He has been a member of the ensemble at the Frankfurt Opera since the 2016/17 season, where he has appeared on stage in numerous roles, including Don José in Georges Bizet's Carmen, the title role of Richard Wagner's Lohengrin, Herod in Richard Strauss' Salome, Edrisi in Karol Szymanowski's Król Roger, Count Vaudémont in Pjotr ​​Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, as Flamand in Strauss' Capriccio, as Lyonel in Friedrich von Flotow's Martha (released on CD), as Froh in Wagner's The Rhinegold, as Skuratov in Leoš Janáček's From a House of the Dead, as Erik in Wagner's The Flying Dutchman, as Pinkerton in Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly and as Prince in Antonín Dvořák's Rusalka, a role he previously played at the Minnesota Opera and the New Orleans Opera sang.

In the 2024/25 season he will be on stage at the Frankfurt Opera in new productions of Alban Berg's Lulu as Alwa, Albéric Magnard's Guercœur as Heurtal and in From a House of the Dead as Skuratov. In Amsterdam he appeared at the Dutch National Opera as Kaiser in Strauss' The Woman without Shadow and at the Concertgebouw as Macho et al. in Otto Ketting's Ithaca. At the turn of the year he will sing with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under Pablo Gonzáles and with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Domingo Hindoyan in Giuseppe Verdi's Messa da Requiem.

In recent seasons he has sung a variety of roles on stages around the world. His debut as Erik in The Flying Dutchman at New York's Metropolitan Opera dates back to the 2016/17 season, when he appeared as Bacchus in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos at Glyndebourne. In 2023/24 he made his house and role debut as Emperor in The Woman without Shadow at the Cologne Opera, another role debut was Görge in a new production of Alexander Zemlinsky's George, the Dreamer in Frankfurt. The 2022/23 season includes Guido Bardi in Zemlinsky's Florentine Tragedy at the Deutsche Opern Berlin and Walther von Stolzing in Wagner's The Masters-Singers of Nuremberg in Budapest. In the concert area, we should also mention Doctor Marianus in Gustav Mahler's Eighth Symphony with the Basque National Orchestra under the direction of Robert Trevino, Mahler's The Song of the Earth in the Konzerthaus Freiburg with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra under Domingo Hindoyan and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under Zubin Mehta.

AJ Glueckert has a special connection to the San Francisco Opera as a former Adler Fellow and participant in the Merola Opera program. He was also part of the Young Artists Program at Santa Fe Opera and Utah Opera. The graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music twice won regional competitions at the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions.
