Brian Michael Moore

Brian Michael Moore is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Mark Oswald.

He was a member of the Young Artists Program at Los Angeles Opera and part of the Merola Opera Program in the summers of 2016 and 2018. Brian Michael Moore is the winner of the 2018 Sara Tucker Study Grant and was honored as “Una Finestra Sui Due Mondi” by the 2017 Spoleto Festival Dei Due Mondi. For the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons he was selected by the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, where he made his debut in Giacomo Puccini's Il Tabarro and appeared in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute and Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata.
From 2020 to 2023, Brian Michael Moore was a member of the Oper Frankfurt ensemble, where he made his house debut as Schmidt in Jules Massenet's Werther and sang in numerous other productions, including successes as the Duke of Mantua in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto, as Narraboth in Richard Strauss' Salome and as the title character in Benjamin Britten's The Prodigal Son. He was also heard as a shepherd in Igor Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex, Remendado in Barrie Kosky's production of Georges Bizet's Carmen, as a singer in the new creation Waiting for Today with music by Arnold Schönberg and Frank Martin, as a vision of a young man in Strauss's The Woman without Shadow, as Flute in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream and as Eumäos in Luigi Dallapiccola's Ulisse.
In the recent past, Brian Michael Moore has appeared as Froh in Wagner's The Rhinegold at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, as Tybalt in Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette at the Musiktheater an der Wien, as Claude Lejeune in the premiere of the opera Lili Elbe by Tobias Picker at the Theater St. Gallen, as Don José in Bizet's Carmen in St. Margarethen, in Britten's The Prodigal Son and The Burning Fiery Furnace, as Chevalier in Franz Schreker's The Distant Sound as well as Guelfo in Saverio Mercadante's Francesca da Rimini in Frankfurt and as Hoffmann in Jacques Offenbach's Les contes d' Hoffmann in Gothenburg.
Projects for the 2024/25 season include the Prince in Sergei Prokofiev's The Love of the Three Oranges, Alfred in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Macduff in Verdi's Macbeth and Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca in St. Gallen and Tybalt in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette at the Semperoper Dresden.
