Gangsoon Kim was born in CheongJu, South Korea. He graduated from the "Yonsei" University of Seoul in 2014.In March 2018 he finished his postgraduate studies at the Conservatory of Rome.

He began to study with the baritone Changseob Jeon, subsequently in Italy he studied with the mezzosoprano Bruna Baglioni and followed masterclasses wit the tenor Ramon Vargas as well as Donata D'annunzio Lombardi, Giandomenico Vaccari, Giovanna Lomazzi, Sergio La Stella, Marco Boemi, Alessandro D’Agostini, Macrì Simone and Donato Renzetti.

His repertoire includes roles such as: Germont in La Traviata, Rigoletto, Nabucco, Miller in Luisa Miller, Amonasro in Aida, Tonio in Pagliacci, Belcore in Elisir d'more, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, Marcello in La Bohème, Scarpia in Tosca, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Figaro in the Barber of Sevilleand many more.

In 2012 he debuted as Alcindoro and Benoit in La Bohème in South Korea and in 2015 as Rigoletto in Rigoletto at the Davide Theater (Rome), in Frasso Sabino (Rieti), in 2016 he sang Figaro in the Barber of Seville at the Auditorium of L’Aquila and at the Teatro Ghione in Rome, in 2017 Figaro in itinerant performances in the Lazio region and Bob and Tom in the Small Chimney Sweep by Benjamin Britten at the Academic Hall of the Conservatory of Rome.

In 2019 he was Schaunard in La Bohème inPisa and at the LuccaLTL Opera Studio, he was winner of the 2nd Prize at the R. Leoncavallo Competition in Potenza and performed Tonio in Pagliacci at the Teatro Stabile di Potenza and in Melfi and as Silvio in Pagliacci in Cerignola, Scarpia in Tosca at the Leonardo da Vinci museum in Rome and in Youtube livestreamings during the pandemic. He sang also the Count in the Marriage of Figaro in Youtube livestreamings.

In 2021 he was a soloist in Mozart's Requiem in Seoul and Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana in the Belcanto Festival of Turi. In 2022 he debuted as Germont in Traviata and Figaro in the Barber of Seville at the Craiova Opera in Romania and on the tour in Germany, Andrea in Pinotta at the Mascagni Festival in Livorno in collaboration with the Goldoni Theatre of Livorno, where he was engaged in the contemporary repertoire in November 2022. In summer 2022 he performed in concert for the Mascagni Festival and interpreted Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at the Castello of Uzzano conducted by M. Antonio Bellandi, sang Rigoletto at the Sarzana Opera Festival and was  involved in the Production of Tosca at the Politeama Greco Theater in Lecce.

In 2023 he sang Belcore in Elisir D'amore at the Romanian Opera in Craiova and on the tour in Germany, Tonio in Pagliacci at the Teatro Stabile of Potenza. He was finalist at the SOI Fiorenza Cedolins Competition in Concert at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari (July 2023), Miller in Luisa Miller for Opera Lombardia from October to December 2023 conducted by Carlo Goldstein directed by Frédéric Roels, Escamillo in Tragedie de Carmen for Il Circuito Lirico del Piemonte and won the First Prize at the Mario Orlandoni Competition in Como (November 2023).

In 2024 he is Scarpia in Tosca at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Miller in Luisa Miller at the Grand Opera of Avignon directed by Frédéric Roels and conducted by Franck Chastrusse Colombier. He will be Amonasro in Aida at the Oper Im Steinbruch in St. Margarethen, Austria and Carlo Gerard in Andrea Chenier for Opera Lombardia and Teatro Verdi in Pisa.
