Momme Hinrichs

Momme Hinrichs became internationally known as a co-founder of the artist duo fettFilm, which with he has been significantly involved in the development of video projections and the profession of video designer in theaters since 2000.

He has also worked as a stage designer since 2007, and his work represents the perfect symbiosis between stage spaces and projection, a total work of art that merges with the music and the stage action.
His work has taken him to many European opera houses and festivals, including Salzburg, Bayreuth and Bregenz, to the Berlin opera houses, to Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Hanover, Oslo, Paris, Toulouse, Nancy, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Vienna, Budapest, Barcelona and Florence, but also to international theaters in North America, China, India and the Middle East.
Momme Hinrichs opens the 24/25 season at the Semperoper Dresden with Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele (director: Eva-Maria Höckmayr), followed by Carl Maria von Weber's The Marksman at the Staatstheater Cottbus, Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser at the Vienna State Opera (director: Lydia Steier) and Wagner's The Flying Dutchman in the St. Margarethen quarry.
In the 2023/24 season, Momme Hinrichs took over the design for Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlos at the Grand Théâtre de Genève (director: Lydia Steier), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich (director: Josef Ernst Köpplinger), Leonard Bernstein's Candide at the Theater an der Wien (director: Lydia Steier), and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar at the Staatstheater Nürnberg (director: Andreas Gergen).
Other highlights included Richard Strauss's The Woman Without a Shadow at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival and Strauss's Salome at the Opéra national de Paris (both directed by Lydia Steier). The production of Wagner's The Flying Dutchman at the Donbass Opera in Donetsk, for which Hinrichs was responsible for set design and projections with fettFilm, won the Taras Shevchenko Prize in 2012, Ukraine's highest cultural award.
Momme Hinrichs has also been working successfully as a director since 2014.
