Ruben Diez is composer and conductor of great versatility both in symphonic and opera

..which has led him to perform in opera theatres and concert halls such as Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Opera de Oviedo, Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Teatro Cervantes in Malaga, Teatro Maestranza in Seville, Liceu Barcelona, Auditorio de Tenerife and Palau de les Arts in Valencia and in festivals such as Marbella’s Starlite and Viña del Mar in Chile.

Maestro Diez is currently Assistant Music Director of Opera de Oviedo where he also conducts operas such as the world premiere of La dama del Alba and has future engagements. He has appeared also at Opera de Tenerife, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and Calixto Bieito’s Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao.

Other opera titles include Rinaldo by Händel, The Magic Flute by Mozart, Les contes d’Hoffmann  by Offenbach, El do de la Africana by Caballero. He has participated as a musical assistant in multiples opera including La Sonnambula, El rey que rabió, La verbena de la paloma at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela, I Puritani, La Celestina by J. M. Nin-Culmell, La Viejecita at Teatro Arriaga and Lucia di Lammermoor.

He has conducted prestigious orchestras, including the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra (equivalent to ORF in Spain), the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, the Vallés Symphony Orchestra, the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony of Córdoba, the National Orchestra of Colombia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Chile  in important venues such as the Teatro Real, the Teatro del Liceu Barcelona, the National Auditorium in Mexico (10,000 in the audience) or Carnegie Hall in New York.

In the cinematographic genre, he has participated as an orchestrator and pianist in films such as "La Cumbre Escarlata" by Guillermo del Toro or "A Monster Comes to See Me" by Hollywood director J. Bayona (winner of the Goya Award for best soundtrack – Goya are the national cinema awards like Bafta (UK) and Cesar (FR). Ruben has been the conductor of the successful international tour "Raphael Sinphonico" and "Raphael Resinphonico" in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

As a composer, he covers practically all musical genres, from choral to symphonic, chamber, lyrical or cinematographic music, standing out in terms of format, his zarzuela "La Carrera de América", with a libretto by historian Juan Carlos de La Madrid.
