Thaddeus Strassberger
Thaddeus Strassberger is an award-winning stage director and set designer. His recent and upcoming productions include La Fanciulla del West at NCPA Beijing, Rusalka at Staatstheater Kassel and Nabucco at Palau de les Arts in Valencia.
He staged La Clemenza di Tito and Nabucco (starring Plácido Domingo) at Los Angeles Opera, JFK and Nabucco at Opéra de Montréal, Don Giovanni at Den Norske Opera in Oslo, I Due Foscari at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London as well as at Theater an der Wien, Pique Dame and Un ballo in maschera at Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, Satyagraha by Philip Glass, The Passenger by Mieczeslaw Weinberg and Greek Passion by Bohuslav Martinu at Ural Opera Ekaterinburg and Carmen at the Royal Danish Opera. He won the European Opera Prize, his productions have been nominated for Russia's most important theatre award “Golden Mask“ and as “Best Production of the Season“ in the awards of German opera magazine “Opernwelt“.
